Carlton's paws sank into the sand leaving perfect impressions behind. The large greek shepherd's body moved gracefully as he moved along. Being the spring time was rolling in, the weather was becoming nicer and more tolerable. His lower jaw dropped, salmon pink tongue rolling out and resting over his bottom two canines as he panted.
The waves rolled and crashed against the shoreline, briefly touching his paws. There was a brief period of sunlight that peeked out from behind a few fluffy white clouds. Sea gulls squawked over head and dive bombed the water for fish. His ears were pricked, acoustics cupping any faint noise that might come to them. his eyes scanned around, looking for any signs of other dogs that had come through here. he sat down in the center of the beach, tucking his hind legs beneath him and his forelegs kept his upper body erect. he gazed out over the water, looking at the horizon, completely lost in his own thoughts. The walls he'd built up around his heart was still there. So far he'd met a few females, but they'd vanished on him. This only solidified his reason for not getting attached to anyone. they'd not last.
Blue eyes fluttered open, the sun was up before she was and the white female didn't appreciate it. Her eyelids closed once again, ears listening to everything around her from the birds to the waves crashing against the shore. She raised herself from under the bench that proved to be a decent shelter for the night and stretched her body, letting out a rather impressive yawn.
The young female, Dyani, trotted towards the shore, groggy and slightly cranky. She wasn't much of a happy riser and it sometimes shown. Her white paws stood at the edge of ocean, the salty air stinging her sensitive nose. She could smell just about anything, which tended to be handy. Long white legs collected beneath her and she playfully jumped into the shallow water, waking her up with the cold shock. Dyani stood, almost belly deep, in the salt water, letting it soak her legs before she trotted to shore, shaking off what might not drip from her body.
Carlton heard a splash next to him and turned to see a white female jump into the water. he grunted.
"It's not good to shock yourself like that," he grunted to her. "Not smart."
He returned his eyes onto the horizon as he watched some sea gulls land in the water and gently bob with the tides. He kept one ear cocked toward her, waiting for her to speak. He might come across as boorish, cantankerous and gruff, but in reality he had a soft spot that he rarely shows.
he was also was private and didn't go blabbing his personal business around. If someone wanted to know something he'd tell them if he thought they should know. Carlton returned his eyes onto the female.
"Dangerous around here miss," he groused. "There are some packs that come by here that aren't the most friendliest in the world."
There were several packs forming in the city and some of them were not the most nicest bunch. he hoped she had a mate nearby.
Her small head jerked in the direction of the voice and found herself looking at a male, a kind of which she'd never seen before. "Well, I needed something to wake me up with.." Her face heated and she walked a little closer, listening to his warnings of other unkind packs. "My name is Dyani. What's your name, stranger?" Blue eyes followed his interesting patterns and to his curled tail. The young female had only grown up around ones who called their kind, Wolf. Her tail drooped between her legs and eyes filled with curiosity of the strange canine. Dyani just couldn't believe she wasn't alert enough to even know he was around her. I may need to work on honing in on my sense.. She thought with a mental kick to her hindquarters.
